I made this Saturday for the family. I had bought peaches two weeks ago to make a peach pie or cobbler I hadn't decided, but the peaches kept disappearing!
This has got to be one of the easiest cookie bars to make. You will most likely have all the ingredients in your pantry or handy in your cupboards. This comes from one of my Moms treasured recipe cards.
This is not my own recipe but it is the favorite on the Christmas cookie tray. It has become one of our family traditional cookies for the Holidays.
I think I will remember the story behind this recipe until I die. This is not the exact recipe my sister Reta used but very similar. My sister Reta was blessed with patience and the gift to love all children.
This recipe was given to be by a girlfriend I miss very much. She lived in warren right behind me. Teresa was new to the area so she didn't know anyone.
With Thanksgiving close by this recipe came to mind. If you like the taste of pumpkin these are a great change from the ordinary pumpkin pie.
One of my Mom's original recipes the card says (Pat Berman), not sure who this is but I think it is from either a friend or a cousin in Canada.
To tell you the truth about this recipe....I have never tried these. I was looking for something in my many cookbooks and pulling one down from the cupboard this piece of paper fell out.
